2025 Goals: Week 5 retrospective
This year, I’m introducing weekly/biweekly retrospectives into my routine as an experiment. The goal is to create a structured opportunity to analyze my progress toward my 2025 goals, stay focused on what truly matters, and hold myself accountable.
2025 Goals Recap
1️⃣ Take care of myself
2️⃣ Retain my job and salary
3️⃣ Protect my status in Ukraine
4️⃣ Double down on Portugal as a candidate for a new home
5️⃣ Double down on Lisapet.ai
6️⃣ Explore options to buy real estate
7️⃣ Conceive a baby
Take Care of Myself
Progress:
Workouts: 2/2 ✅
Eating in Weight Loss Zone: 7/7 ✅
Fun eating: 1/2 ✅
Living in a sunny climate: ✅
Sleeping 8 hours: 5/7 🟡
We moved to Bangkok, Thailand last week, and so far, I’m loving it. The people are incredibly friendly, and the climate is much more manageable than I expected. We’re living in a 34-floor condo with a pool, gym, and full coworking space, and the neighborhood is fantastic.
I’ve been consistent with my workouts, healthy eating, and habit tracking, losing another 0.6kg this week. However, I had to reschedule my therapy sessions due to time zone differences.
On a fun note, my wife and I had an incredible dim sum dinner at Siam Paragon, trying a variety of flavors—shrimp, scallops, pork, and more.
🔹 Feeling: Happy.
Retain My Job and Salary
⏳ Time Spent: 40/40 hours ✅
The Indochina time zone is actually working well for me. My job hours (5 PM – 2 AM) leave me with time in the morning to focus on personal goals. This balance feels great.
Protect My Status in Ukraine
⏳ Time Spent: 1 hour
I re-applied for criticality status two weeks ago and am still waiting for a response from the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
Portugal as a Candidate for a New Home
⏳ Time Spent: 6/5 hours ✅
Progress:
Received my NIF ✅ (still waiting for my Finanças password)
Used Anchorless.io for the process—fast, smooth, and affordable. Highly recommended.
Consulted an immigration attorney who confirmed my D8 visa plan is feasible but requires me to apply from my country of residence (Ukraine), which is not an option.
Potential alternative: Apply from Bangkok since I hold a long-term DTV visa for Thailand (valid for 5 years, allowing me to stay 6 months per year).
Scheduled a second consultation with Anchorless.io for a second opinion.
📌 Next Steps: If Anchorless.io confirms this approach, I’ll move forward with them to kick off my immigration process.
Key Takeaway:
Moving to Portugal by the end of the year seems achievable. The biggest potential risk remains taxation.
Lisapet.ai
⏳ Time Spent: 9/20 hours ❌
Missed Goal:
I didn’t hit my 20-hour product development target this week, which is a major issue since the MVP is still not ready. Without an MVP, my marketing efforts are ineffective. Next week, I’ll focus on better time management to ensure I hit this goal.
Wins:
✅ Rejected other interesting but unrelated projects to keep my focus on Lisapet.ai.
✅ Building in public: So far, this blog post is the only thing I’ve done—but it’s a start!
✅ YouTube plans: I’ll shoot my first Lisapet.ai vlog as soon as the MVP is ready.
Social Media Activity:
LinkedIn & Reddit: No real activity ❌
Twitter: Staying moderately engaged 🟡
📌 Next Steps:
Once the MVP is ready, I’ll set weekly goals for content creation.
Right now, my only focus is getting the product built.
Buy Real Estate
Mortgage Feasibility by Country
✅ Portugal: A Reasonable Investment
Down payment: 30% (or 20% with a residence permit)
Interest rates: 3.4% - 3.8% per annum
Mortgage length: 30-40 years
Estimated monthly payment: ~€800 (very reasonable)
Market trend: Prices have increased 50% since 2021 and are still rising—making this a strong investment opportunity.
❌ Ukraine: Not a Viable Option
Monthly payment for leasing/mortgage: ~$2000 (insane!)
Market trend: Due to ongoing war, real estate prices haven’t grown since 2021, making it a high-risk investment.
📌 Next Steps:
Pausing this goal for now since immigration progress is a prerequisite before making any real estate decisions.
Conceive a Baby
Not started yet 😅. Planning to kick off the process closer to September.
Final Thoughts
This weekly retrospective felt like a great way to analyze my progress, pinpoint missed goals, and keep myself accountable.
Biggest win of the week: Staying focused on Lisapet.ai and rejecting distractions.
Biggest challenge: Not dedicating enough hours to product development.
Next week’s focus → Better time management to ensure Lisapet.ai’s MVP gets built!
